The Bombers wrap up their stateside away games with two wins over the Lumberjacks in Ironwood, Michigan. First, with a convincing shutout win on Friday night and then a gutsy come-from-behind win on Saturday.

GAME RECAP - FRIDAY
Matthew Ofukany started in net for the Bombers and Gavin Covrig got the start for the Lumberjacks. A tight checking start in the opening ten minutes with less than a handful of quality scoring chances between the two teams. Sioux Lookout started to get more offensive zone time and opportunities and the period wore on. The Bombers finally beat Covrig at 18:10. Ty Love picked up a Brodie Wood rebound in the high slot (CLIP BELOW) to net the game’s first goal. Shots on net in the opening frame were 16 for the Bombers and 6 for Ironwood.
Draeden Bear extended the Bombers’ lead in the second period with a wristshot that beat the Lumberjacks’ netminder (CLIP BELOW) through the 5-hole at 6:13. The Bombers added another with some sustained pressure. Draeden Bear got his second of the night at 15:08. Lumberjacks head coach opted for a goaltender change following the goal and inserted Connor Doyle into the game. Kaden Veller, took advantage of the cold goalie and put the first shot he faced past him to give the Bombers a 4-0 lead.
At of the 17:14of the third, Kaden Veller entered the zone on the wing and had two Bombers headed to the net. Shyler McGahey got a stick on it and chipped it past Doyle (CLIP BELOW) to make it 5-0.
There were no power play goals scored in the game as the Bombers were 0 for 3 with the advantage and the Lumberjacks were 0 for 2. Matthew Ofukany picked up his first shutout of the season with 25 saves on the night.

GAME RECAP - SATURDAY
The Bombers got on the board first less than 3 minutes after the opening faceoff. Cedrik Robidoux got his 14th of the season tipping a Gursimar Mann shot past Connor Doyle at 2:22. The Lumberjacks didn’t take long to retaliate. Jack Hanna deked out Nick Webb at 3:32 to even things up at one a piece. At 13:06, Olan Norton passed over to Reed Scaddan on a two on one, who snapped it home (CLIP BELOW) to give the Bombers a 2-1 lead. Shots were 12-11 for the Bombers in the first period.
Timothy Hanulik scored for the Lumberjacks at 13:24 of the second to even up the game up at 2-2. Andrew Brubakken slipped down from the point to pick up a loose puck less than a minute later to make it 3-2 for Ironwood. The Lumberjacks had their first lead of the weekend.
The Bombers put a lot of pressure on to start the third period and put the first 8 shots on net before Owen Cotter final scored (CLIP BELOW) at 4:06 to tie the game again. Brodie Wood regained the Bombers lead with a shot from way out that beat Connor Doyle at 8:16. Gursimar Mann left a perfect drop pass for Cedrik Robidoux who got his second goal (CLIP BELOW) of the night. A dominant third period for the Bombers only allowed one shot on Nick Webb.
The Bombers outshot the Lumberjacks 50-21. Each team’s powerplay was 0 for 1 on the night. With tonight’s win, the Bombers nearly sweep the season series, winning 7 of 8 games this season and picking up a single point the other game, after losing to Ironwood in a shootout.
