GAME RECAP

The Bombers had control of the game and dictated the pace of play from early on. Owen Cotter got his team-leading 24th goal of the season at 3:43. He picked up a rebound in the slot and buried it to make it 1-0. Later in the period, a point shot from Dylan Orr found the back of the net for a two-goal lead. The Bombers outshot the Miners 15-6 in the first 20 minutes.

Both net minders, Gabriel Donohue for the Miners and Nick Webb for the Bombers were unbeaten in middle frame. Again, Sioux Lookout had the lion's share of chances with 17 shots on net to Red Lake's four.

The Bombers continued to dominate and Shyler McGahey put up an additional insurance marker at 2:09 of the third period. At 13:17, Sioux Lookout native, Cooper Labelle made a nice play behind the net. And while initially denied on a wrap-around attempt, stuck with the play and batted in his own rebound to give the Bombers a 4-0 lead. The Miners would spoil the party for Bombers' goalie Nick Webb. In a last ditch effort to get something going, they pulled the goalie for an extra attacked and the gamble paid off. Reid White was able to put a hard shot past Webb with less than three minutes to go in regulation to crack the goose egg. The Miners had their best period and even managed to outshoot the Bombers 12-10. But time would run out and the Bombers skated away with a 4-1 victory.

The game's third star was Gabriel Donohue, who was peppered for most of the game but kept his team in it. The second star was Bombers' goalie Nick Webb who remained laser-focused, despite on seeing only a handful of shots in each of the first two periods. Brodie Wood was the game's first star, recording two assists on the night.
