Deadline Transactions

Just ahead of the trade deadline, the Sioux Lookout Bombers have made some roster adjustments to prepare for the second half of the regular season and to gear up for the 2026 Bill Salonen Cup playoffs.

The Bombers have sent forward Carter Lee to the Niagara Falls Canucks for Future Considerations. Bombers’ General Manager Austen Hoey stated, "We would like to thank Carter for his efforts and dedication to the Bombers program and we wish him all the best in Niagara Falls"

The Bombers have added Leif Sigfusson to the roster. The 6’1” forward hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Leif suited up in seven games this season for the Dryden GM Ice Dogs. Last season he split his time between the Listowel Cyclones and Pelham Panthers of the GOJHL and the Caledon Golden Hawks in the PJCHL. According to the GM, “Head coach Carson Johnstone has a long history with Leif and we are extremely excited to finally bring him to our program. His big body, great shot, and offensive prowess will add to our already potent offensive lineup. We could not be more excited to bring Leif in and have him fly around at the Hangar wearing the Number 14 Bombers jersey! We believe he will become a fan favourite and a player that will take you to the edge of your seat on a nightly basis, Welcome Leif!"

The Bombers have also acquired fellow Winnipeger, Logan Maroni. The '06 goaltender started the season with the Red Lake Miners. Austen Hoey added, "We spoke to Logan in the summer and were excited at the prospect of him joining our goaltending group. When he became available in late December we decided to bring him in to add to our roster. Logan brings not only size and goaltending skill but also a high level of maturity and a desire to compete. We cannot wait to get Logan into a Bombers uniform. We believe he will help us both on and off the ice"

The Sioux Lookout Bombers are currently in 4th place with several games-in-hand over each of the teams ahead of them in the standings.
